Transforming Vilberg Health and Competence Center: a journey towards hygienic excellence with barrier laundry solutions
Vilberg Health and Competence Center located on Vilberg, north-east of Eidsvoll city center. The health center has about 120 – 125 residents divided into four departments . Due to hygiene requirements, barrier laundry solution was the only way to archive the perfect solution regards to laundry cycle management concept. Additional long-term investment was needed and finally after a while they got their finances approved and confirmed to go a-head.
Our Area Manager, Magnus Andresen started planning for this particular project approx. three years ago. With old, rusty front loader machines mixed with different brands, the laundry room was finally ready to be scrapped and renewed. Due to hygiene requirements, barrier laundry concept was decided as the perfect, and only, solution for their residents. The design of our Line 6000 with our latest new product development features and ergonomics and the layout of the laundry has been well customized. Every detail has been well planned together with the customer since start of this project. The laundry room has now a complete makeover and has now got our latest new barrier laundry solution where laundry cycle management procedure being followed step by step.
Barrier concept solution where the laundry has separated clean / unclean zone area to avoid contamination and transmission of dangerous viruses and bacteria. This concept is something that Electrolux Professional has worked with for many years, where our Area Managers function as key person as advisors/consultants throughout the project phase. The earlier we are involved, the better is it for us and for our customers to succeed with a project like this one. Some of the topics we always need to discuss in advance with our customers is e. g. capacity calculation, laundry flow, service access, air dimensioning – and much more, it is important to have attention to details to get a well-functioning laundry for many years.

In addition, they wash bed linen, curtains, duvets and pillows, but they also send out some of the bed linen after the weekend. In total, about 70-80 kilos of clothes are processed per working day – from Monday to Friday.
According to calculations made in 2019/20 in relation to planning a new laundry, we washed much more than the stated kilo here per week / year. We then washed between 6-7000 kg per year.
